I bought the pedal back in Feb. Last month when I inserted the cable into the input jack some spark came off, along with some black smoke and a "pop" sound. Now the pedal doesn't work anymore. It was just the second time I used the pedal. Since I live in Hong Kong I don't know where I can get it fixed. Can I send it back to the US to get it fixed? What is the address? Please help. This is a perfect tuner and I just can't use it anymore. Thanks.

Can you please give me more details regarding what you plugged in, type of cable, etc?
This is the very first time I have heard of a situation like this happening. Email me back and I can give you further instructions on how we can handle this for you.
Please let me know where you purchased the pedal and if you registered the warranty, also.

Thanks for your reply.
The cable was just a regular guitar cable with a jack on each end. I didn't register the pedal online, but the serial number is VSS105974. I bought it in Vacouver at a guitar store called Long and McQuade. Hope you can help me on this. Thanks.

We can certainly take care of your situation. To be honest, this is the first time ever we have heard of this type of failure from plugging in with just a battery. A bad or inappropriate power supply has been known to cause these types of problems, typically.
Send it in to us and we will inspect/test the unit to confirm its cause of failure. In the case that it is our fault, there is no repair fee. StroboStomps come with a three year warranty.

Oddly enough, I experienced much the same problem discribed by MadMud. I didn't see any smoke, sparks or hear any pops, but I did detect a burning smell. I've only had my tuner for two weeks. I have sent an email to:techwest@petersonemp.com
Should I just mail the tuner to the above address, or wait for an email reply. |
